Ashley Greene: Butter & LOL

Posted by tinkie on Aug 05, 2010 | Ashley Greene, Project/Movies | No Comments

Here is a sneek peek of Ashley Greene’s project, Butter.  She plays a rebellious teenager and she is around 4:00.  The film stars Jenifer Gardner and Hugh Jackman.

Also, here is more info about Ashley’s other project, LOL, thx to ash-greene.org

Ready to be drowned in teenage comedy
stereotypes? I hope so because according to Coming Soon, LOL has officially gone into production. Just a month ago we got a taste of what’s to come when we first heard that Twilight’s Ashley Greene joined the cast. Major adolescent draw. Also on board? The teen queen herself, Miley Cyrus. Even with Demi Moore’s name on the roster it’s still quite tempting to dismiss this one off as a formulaic high school drama. The official synopsis doesn’t help, but the new additions to the cast might.

In a world connected by YouTube, iTunes and Facebook, Lola (Cyrus) and her friends navigate the peer pressures of high school romance and friendship while dodging their sometimes overbearing and confused parents. When Lola’s mom, Anne (Moore), “accidentally” reads her teenage daughter’s racy journal, she realizes just how wide their communication gap has grown. Through hilarious and heartfelt moments between mother and daughter, “LOL” is an authentic coming-of-age story for the way we live now.

Lola’s high school inner-circle includes Kyle (Booth) – Lola’s BFF, whom she realizes is her love interest; Lola’s two best friends Janice (Esco) and Emily (Hinshaw); Max (Sevani) – a nerd that Emily secretly hooks up with; Lola’s ex-boyfriend and Kyle’s best friend Chad (Finn); Lloyd (Watson) who is part of their crew; and Ashley (Greene) – the sexy girl who has set her sights on Kyle, much to Lola’s dismay. Thomas Jane plays Alan, Anne’s ex-husband and Lola’s father. Jay Hernandez plays James, a dangerously cute, good-natured cop dating Anne who is able to offer a little perspective on her teenage daughter. Austin Nichols plays Mr. Ross, the heartthrob math teacher, who all the girls have a crush on. Marlo Thomas plays Gran, Anne’s sophisticated mother whose relaxed demeanor allows her to be the easy-going bystander when it comes to watching Anne raising children of her own. Gina Gershon and Fisher Stevens play Anne’s closest friends and confidants and Nora Dunn plays Emily’s mom.

Catch all of those added names there? We reported on Thomas’ casting a few weeks back, but Douglas Booth, Adam Sevani, George Finn, Ashley Hinshaw, Lina Esco, Tanz Watson, Thomas Jane, Jay Hernandez, Austin Nichols, Gina Gershon, Fisher Stevens and Nora Dunn are all new to the production. The younger cast members are basically unknowns expect for Sevani who you might recognize from Step Up 2: The Streets and can catch in the upcoming installment, Step Up 3D. I don’t care if it means this movie comes with a corny prom dance routine, I wouldn’t mind seeing Sevani showing off his skills.

The adult ensemble, however, is full of famous faces and quite impressive. Jane is always a pleasure to look at as is Hernandez, and Moore has the pleasure of spending some time with both. Her character’s situation basically sounds like a screen version of her Willis-to-Kutcher swap. I lost a lot of faith in Nichols after The Informers, but the guy still rocks on One Tree Hill, so I can’t hold it against him. As for Gershon, I’m not familiar with much of her on screen work, but did happen to catch her performance in Bye Bye Birdie on Broadway. The show sucked, but she wasn’t half bad. Lastly there’s Stevens and Dunn who are probably the least familiar nowadays, but have delivered some impressive pieces in the past, my favorite of which are Super Mario Brothers (yes, I loved it as a kid and still do) and Three Kings respectively.

Perhaps we shouldn’t be writing this one off just yet. Plus it might be wise to check out the 2008 French version before passing too much judgment on this American remake.

LOL is a film Ashley is now doing.  Her famous new castmates include Disney star and musician, Miley Cyrus and infamous legend Demi Moore. According to IMBD, here is the plotline of the story:

In a world connected by YouTube iTunes, and Facebook, Lola and her friends navigate the peer pressures of high school romance and friendship while dodging their sometimes overbearing and confused parents. When Lola’s mom, Anne, “accidentally” reads her teenage daughter’s racy journal, she realizes just how wide their communication gap has grown. Through hilarious and heartfelt moments between mother and daughter, LOL is a fresh coming-of-age story for modern times.

Movie Rumors

Posted by tinkie on May 21, 2010 | Ashley Greene, Project/Movies | No Comments

there have been recent rumors that ashley might be in scream 4 or replace megan fox’s role in the transformer saga? i could believe scream because Ashley has played a lot of horror films, but transformers seem to be out of it…comment on what you think.

Scream:

After years spent as a supporting player in the “Twilight” universe, Ashley Greene might be poised for breakout star status in Hollywood. She recently wrapped a starring role in “The Apparition” opposite Sebastian Stan (”Gossip Girl”) and Tom Felton (”Harry Potter”), and now she’s looking to step into a lead part in “Scream 4.”

Greene’s rep confirmed to MTV News that the 23-year-old actress has been offered the starring role, joining returning stars Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette. The news was first reported by The Hollywood Reporter. Greene would play Campbell’s cousin, who is being established as the franchise’s new heroine for both “Scream 4″ and future installments of the horror series.

Additionally, Lake Bell is said to be in negotiations for a starring role, while Hayden Panettiere (”Heroes”) and Rory Culkin (”Signs”) have been offered parts. Panettiere would play Greene’s best friend, and Culkin would play Greene’s love interest.

With “Scream 4″ coming more than a decade after its predecessor, Campbell originally bowed out of the production, declining to reprise her role as Sid, the unfortunate girl who’s always on the run from the Ghostface Killer. Campbell’s decision forced franchise creator Kevin Williamson to go back to the drawing board. But the actress eventually reconsidered, Wes Craven signed on to direct and the film will hit theaters in April 2011.

“We have fun with the idea of endless sequels, or ’sequelitis’ as Kevin calls it in the script,” Craven said recently of the upcoming movie. “Sid goes through these three horrendous things, and ‘Stab’ was based on those horrible things. And then they’ve been taken by a studio and run into the ground in a series of sequels. She has been off by herself and living her own life, and she’s even written a book that has gotten a lot of critical acclaim. She’s kind of put her life back together in the course of these 10 years. But, certainly, there would be no ‘Scream’ without Ghostface, so she has to confront him again, but now as a woman who has really come out the darkness of her past.”

Transformers:

In the wake of the news that Megan Fox will not be in Transformers 3, one of the biggest questions in Hollywood has become: Who gets her job?

A number of actresses are rumored to be up for the role of Shia Labeouf’s (new) love interest, with some reports suggesting that Prince of Persia beauty Gemma Arterton is the frontrunner.

Among the other names director Michael Bay is reportedly considering:

Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Brooklyn Decker, Twilight’s Ashley Greene, “Heroes” star Hayden Panettiere, Zoe Saldana of Avatar fame, “High School Musical” sweetheart Vanessa Hudgens, Joe Jonas ex Camilla Belle, and supermodel Bar Refaeli.

Other contenders in the mix (supposedly) include Miranda Kerr and Jessica Lowndes.

New Project for Ashley?

Posted by tinkie on Apr 11, 2010 | Ashley Greene, Project/Movies | No Comments

thx ifelthope for heads up

“Twilight” regular Ashley Greene has joined the Weinstein Co. comedy “Butter.”Jennifer Garner is producing and starring in the film, based on the Black List screenplay written by newcomer Jason Micallef. Alissa Phillips and Mike De Luca are also producing the project, which director Jim Field Smith (“She’s Out of My League”) will begin filming next week in Louisiana.

“Butter” follows a number of competitive characters in a small Midwestern town as they become entwined in an annual butter-carving contest. Greene will play a rebellious high school teenager named Kaitlen Pickler. (Do I smell a sequel built around anaerobic fermentation?)

Repped by Innovative Artists and McKeon-Myones Entertainment, Greene just wrapped shooting on the Warner Bros./Dark Castle thriller “The Apparition.” She will next reprise her role as Alice Cullen in “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,” which Summit releases in June, and she stars in the indie drama “Skateland,” which had its world premiere at Sundance in January.
